Vietnam tour: a boat trip on the Mekong

Visitors travel in Vietnam can choose from a wide range of boat trips into the Mekong delta, but one of the first to take tourists beyond the towns and well-known Cai Be floating market to smaller farms and settlements is Bassac, run by a French former oil exec and his Vietnamese wife. The market town of Can Tho was all noise and shouts and busy people, but once the refurbished rice barge with its cosy en suite cabins cast off from a town pier, all was peaceful. My thoughts turned to Willie Wonka's factory as we cruised along a chocolate-colored channel.

An overnight trip into the Mekong delta presents the opportunity get off Vietnam tour trail and meets the locals

Disembarking on a small, equally Dairy Milk canal in rural Hao Thanh district, we took a short walk with guide Lan – somebody stay in their along raised paths to the house of a Mrs. Cam. Tourists are still rare enough in these parts for our small group to draw excited "hellos" from groups of children even 100m away across the water. One farmer snapped a pic of my weird blonde head with his phone.

Everything growing so abundantly in this fertile land is used for something, Lan told us: leaves for salads and soups, water hyacinth leaves for household goods, banana stems for rope, and fruit, of course. Mrs. Cam and family served us pineapples, mangoes and jackfruit, and tiny cups of tea at her waterside house and, with help from Lan – someone stay in there, our little group of five Brits chatted and exchanged jokes with our hosts until it grew dark.

The people of the delta are known within Vietnam as happy-go-lucky types who live for the moment. Thanks to all that cocoa-y silt in the river, the land is super-fertile, and life is pretty laid-back. Lanterns and torches lit our way back to the landing stage, where we climbed into the small boat that would deliver us back to the Bassac.

I stared back up the bank to where the family were waving and smiling. Yes, we'd paid for the privilege of dipping into their lives for an hour or two, but I felt very pleased with the bargain, and our hosts gave a good impression of being happy with it, too.

Extra information: An overnight trip for two on the Bassac, including private transfers from Ho Chi Minh City, booked through Vietnam tour including lunch, dinner and breakfast, and activities at | Vietnam tour | Vietnam hotel | travel in Vietnam | hotel in Vietnam |

Come to Ba Mun Island - green pearl in Vietnam

If you have planning travel in Vietnam, come to Bai Tu Long. Located in Bai Tu Long Bay in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh, Ba Mun Island is one of the largest and most beautiful clusters of isles with the greatest abundance of flora in Bai Tu Long National Park.

It is also an extremely interesting destination for those who love adventure and nature from Vietnam tour

It takes only 45 minutes on a high-speed boat from Cai Rong wharf in Van Don district to Ba Mun Island. The first impression tourists have when arriving at the island is pristine natural landscape with green forests embraced entirely by blue sea.

The east of the island (known locally as the “exterior”) is pummeled by strong waves with water spray launching tens of metres high, while the west (the “interior”) features tranquil scenery and calm water that ripples against the side of boats.

Ba Mun covers an area of about 1,800 hectares with diverse flora and fauna including rare and valuable species. The most prominent plants are Tram Do (Syzygium zeylanicum), as well as Lim (Erythrophleum fordii), Sen (Madhuca pasquieri) and Tau (Vatica fleuryana Tardieu).

Ba Mun has several rare species of animals, including the golden deer, which is still quite populous and the only population in northeast Vietnam. Golden deer often search for food at night. Therefore, it is hard to spot them during the day but visitors can see their footprints.

There are a lot of other species of animals such as antelope, monkeys, langurs and more, as well as sea and migratory birds. With its diverse fauna, Ba Mun Island is the largest wild animal reserve in the southeast region. For this reason, locals often call it “ Animal Island”.

On Ba Mun Island, there are seven large streams with unique names such as O Lon To (big pigsty) and O Lon Con (small pigsty), as well as Mieu Danh, Van Lau, Cao Lo streams, and Che flume. The water runs all year round and is very clean thanks to large coverage of the forest. This is a valuable source of fresh water amidst the vast sea.

Travelling to Ba Mun, tourists can explore on their own, following some natural trails on the island or patrol routes serving forest management. It takes at least 3 days to complete a Vietnam tour of Ba Mun Island and 5 hours if going around the island by motorboat.

The island has a wildlife rescue centre belonging to the Bai Tu Long National Park. Tourists can contact the centre in case they need any support. Read more information for Vietnam tour: | hotel in Vietnam | Vietnam hotel | travel in Vietnam |

Binh Thuan builds friendly, destination of visitor's travel in Vietnam

The central province of Binh Thuan is becoming an attractive tourist attraction for domestic and international tourists, especially those from Russia, China, Germany and the Republic of Korea from Vietnam travel.

This is attributed to the locality’s efforts to build a friendly and safe tourism environment.

In the first nine months of this year, Binh Thuan received over 2.5 million tourists, earning more than 3.6 trillion VND (196.2 million USD).

This is the result of the province’s investment in developing its tourism sector, regarding tourism as a key industry to promote local socio-economic development.

The province has spared no efforts to remove beggars and peddlers from key tourist attractions, asking businesses and households that provide tourism services to say no to raising prices irrationally.

In spite of unfavorable transport facilities such as the lack of an airport and seaport, Binh Thuan has seen a steady increase in the number of international tourists since 2006.

In the coming time, the province will contribute greatly to Vietnam’s target of a two percent annual increase in the number of Russian tourists, hoping to receive 350,000 visitors travel in Vietnam by 2015. Vietnam tour, Vietnam hotel, hotel in Vietnam, travel in Vietnam, Vietnam travel
