Anyone who has ever visited Hanoi will probably tell
you that it may be the most beautiful city in all of Asia. People have
settled here along the Red River for a thousand years. Nestled along
wooded boulevards among the city’s two dozen lakes you will find
architectural souvenirs left by all who conquered this great valley,
from the Chinese who first came in the last millennium to the French,
booted out in our own century and the lakes are one of the attractions
that many tourists visit.
Itinerary Vietnam tour
DAY 1: HA NOI – BA BE LAKES (L/D)
7:00am: Start Vietnam tour
journey. Pick-up from your hotel in Ha Noi in the morning and driver to
Bac Kan Province. We might make several stops wherever you want to take
photos and visit sightseeing places and villages along the way. Short
break in Thai Nguyen city to visit the museum of the cultures of
Vietnam’s ethnic groups. Opened in 1959, the museum of the culture
(Vietnam Museum of Ethnology) of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups is no doubt one
of the best museums in Vietnam, though regrettably it still sees
relatively few foreign visitors. It contains important collections
relating to the history and ethnology of the wider Viet Bac region,
including costumes from all of the major ethnic groups, together with an
extensive collection of agricultural, handicraft and hunting tools and
more than 4,000 documents, exhibits and pictures relating to all aspects
of Vietnamese civilization. For about 3 hours ahead before noon that we
can arrive at the destination, we will stop at Bac Kan town for lunch.
Then around 3.00 pm, we arrive at the village of Tay minority people
inside the Ba Be National Park. Checking-in our homestay and refreshing
by a short leisurely walk in the park around, maybe some swimming if the
weather permits. Back home for dinner, then a talk on local culture or
customs before bedtime. Overnight at Homestay
DAY 2: BA BE LAKES BOATING & NATIONAL PARK TREKKING (B/L/D)
Wake up by the bird chirping, this will be the scarce moment of
tranquility where we feel very close to nature and isolated from
bustling cities. Breakfast then start discovering the subtle and
imposing beauty of the area just on the local boat. We glide along the
lakes, river and through the pretty cave to a powerful waterfall, the
whole journey offers great natural scenery. After lunch at a food stall
nearby the waterfall, we boat back into the tranquil Ba Be lakes for its
majesty. And it is really refreshing to go swimming here. You may have
the possibility to go on a short trek with our guide to one of the small
Tay villages scattered around the lakes on the land. Rest of the
afternoon, Hua Ma Cave will be a good place worth a visit. Hua Ma Cave
can be regarded as the Phong Nha Cave in the North. With 10m high and
500m depth, Hua Ma Cave offers a great space for a fresh air
inspiration.
Dinner and stay overnight in the same home stay at Ba Be Lake.
DAY 3: BA BE – HA NOI (B)
Again, take the moment of fresh air in the morning. Enjoy the breakfast
leisurely before taking last walk into the park Check-out, say goodbye
to the host and leave this small village for Hanoi by 10.00 am. If we
are lucky to be on Sunday, take a chance to visit kermis - a typical
local market in highland areas. Take lunch on the way at your own
account. Trip ends at your hotel around 17:00. More information Vietnam
